Survey reports high levels of satisfaction, awareness and use of Healthy Together program

The latest Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) EqualityCare Provider Satisfaction Survey reports high levels of satisfaction, awareness and use of the Healthy Together program. The program provides health coaching services that reinforce treatment delivered by Wyoming practitioners to Medicaid recipients, as well as educational and consultation services that support their practices.

The survey, administered by NCQA certified The Meyers Group, was designed to gather objective, quantifiable data on provider satisfaction with APS Healthcare, the company that has administered the Healthy Together EqualityCare Program since 2004.

Results from survey respondents showed:

  • 89% are aware of the program and understand how to refer their patients;
  • 89% said they were Satisfied or Very Satisfied with how the program supports their treatment plan, provides education and helps patients make positive behavior changes to improve their health;
  • 98% are satisfied with the availability and courtesy of the health coaches and;
  • 88% recommend the Healthy Together program to their patients.

"These survey results reflect the excellent outreach efforts done by APS Healthcare.  Provider satisfaction and engagement are crucial to the continued success of health management for the Wyoming EqualityCare clients," says Teri Green, EqualityCare Manager, WDH, Office of Healthcare Financing.

Outreach services offered to providers include continued medical education sessions, practice management consulting, a toll-free referral number and support from a health coach for Medicaid recipients with chronic conditions.

"Our clinic, Allergy and Asthma Clinic of Wyoming, has been working with APS Healthcare for several years now.  APS is a good bridge between healthcare providers and Medicaid," states Lakhman Gondalia, M.D.  "The health coaches are very good to work with.  With the help of APS, we can continue to save healthcare costs by preventing hospitalizations and ER visits. Thumbs-up to APS Healthcare and the Healthy Together program."

"We are proud of the results, which clearly show that APS' services are well received by the Wyoming provider community.  Our outreach efforts over the past year have increased provider referrals by over 600%, which means we have been able to help many more Wyomingites," says Michael Jensen, M.B.A., M.H.A., Executive Director, APS Healthcare.
