LUMEDX releases new Webinar, The Power of Analytics: Managing Cath Lab Growth in Real Time

LUMEDX Corporation, a leading provider of integrated cardiovascular information systems (CVIS), today announced the release of a new and complimentary educational Webinar on CD, The Power of Analytics: Managing Cath Lab Growth in Real Time. The CD shows how analytical software enables hospitals to act on trends in real time and determine when to add more services to their catheterization labs, improving quality care and the bottom line.

In the Webinar, LUMEDX Product Manager LuAnne Peterson, RRT, MBA, demonstrates what analytics offers to cardiovascular (CV) service lines from a business perspective. "In this presentation we're showing how you can get the 'big picture' view of your business, how to take the pulse of your service line. For CV, that usually means first looking at your cath lab. To stay competitive, some cath labs may want to diversify their services—adding peripheral vascular, electrophysiology, implants, and other procedures," said Peterson.

In her presentation, Peterson uses three scenarios that illustrate the importance of:

  • Understanding volume changes: Diagnostic cath volumes decreasing? Noninvasive tests increasing? Why?
  • Diversifying the services your cath lab offers: adding PVI, EP, Implants and more
  • Planning for continued growth and best practices for Stroke, the ACC-NCDR® CARE Registry® and the AHA.

"For cardiovascular departments today, the bottom line is almost as important as the quality of the care given. Healthcare providers need to monitor metrics in real time in order to protect their business and act on opportunities," said Peterson. "And because real-time monitoring of metrics enables quality improvement and registry participation, it's easier to build a diverse program that's clinically and financially strong."
