ViSalus reports top line sales growth of $57.4M in first quarter 2014

ViSalus, the weight-loss and fitness company known for its mission of Challenging the world…10 lbs. at a time through the PROJECT 10 Challenge, today announced first quarter 2014 sales of $57.4 million. Qualified Promoters at the end of the first quarter totaled approximately 39,500, an increase over the approximately 38,500 qualified Promoters in the prior quarter and the first increase in qualified promoters in over a year. Growth in the sales force of independent Promoters is critical to the success of the Body by Vi Project 10 Challenge as these Promoters, through their Challenge parties and networking activities, are the entry point for ViSalus customers.

Ryan Blair, Chief Executive Officer of ViSalus, stated, "Building our Promoter base is a key step in achieving top line sales growth.  While it is early in the year, first quarter sales stabilized, with increases over prior month in February and March.  We experienced a quarter-over-quarter increase in Promoters in both North America and Europe, and we have sharpened the focus of the Challenge message on PROJECT 10, which was piloted in 2013.  Our Promoters are now armed with the PROJECT 10Challenge, a simple, universal selling message for customers who want to lose 10 pounds or build 10 pounds of lean muscle."

Since launching in January, over 9,000 people this year alone already able to say "i LOST it" after having lost their first 10 lbs.  After helping more than 8,000 people lose their first 10 lbs. in all of 2013, the PROJECT 10 Challenge has exceeded 2013 totals*.

Mr. Blair continued, "We also launched our second and third European markets, Germany and Austria, during the first quarter, and we are on track to open one additional market during the first half of 2014.  While we remain committed to adapting our materials and approach to the local market, the simplicity of The Challenge has resonated with our customers domestically and internationally."
