I would respectfully like to ask a question. As a 61-year-old layperson, I find myself in similar circumstances to those discussed here. Some background: I was infected with (and recovered from) Covid-19 in December 2020. I had mild, but distinctive symptoms and a positive Covid diagnosis. I received the two-dose Pfizer vaccine in January/February of 2021. I am now sick again, with what I think is Covid-19. I am waiting on the results of my PCR test. I was with a friend who has the same symptoms as me and has been diagnosed with Covid.
Why am I sick again so soon (10 months and 8 months respectively) after having Covid and getting the vaccine? Did my immunity wane quickly or am I not protected against the variants going around? My symptoms are more severe (and different) this time as well. I'm not looking for medical advice, I am under the care of a doctor. I'm just curious what is going on, and if I can look forward to getting Covid again in the future.
