1. Christine Sutherland Christine Sutherland Australia says:

It seems that health care reform is urgently needed in every country, with health systems suffering universal collapse due to rising rates of lifestyle-related illnesses, and other disorders.

While these reforms are essential, they are not nearly as critical as reforms to actual treatment strategies.  We are currently tolerating (and at times even celebrating) pathetically inadequate cure rates with, for example, the so-called "gold standard" of CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), when BMSA (Brief, Multi-Sensory Activation) strategies are many times more effective, cheaper to administer, easier for the patient to learn to self treat, and have enough trial evidence to demonstrate clear superiority to both CBT and medication for common and costly disorders such as anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.

Rather than making the main focus of discussion administrative or organisational matters, can we have a focus on vigorous and forthright discussion about cheaper and more effective methodologies, at both prevention and treatment stages.
