The TissueFab® GelMA-Bone-Vis bioink is specifically engineered to promote the osteogenic differentiation of stem cells. It is constructed using a Gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) and Hydroxyapatite (HAp) hydrogel system.
HAp is an exceptionally crystalline type of calcium phosphate, sharing a chemical resemblance with the mineralized phase of bone. This similarity contributes to its outstanding biocompatibility and favorable osteoinductive and osteoconductive properties, making it ideal for bone regeneration.
Literature has extensively explored HAp-containing hydrogels to assess their compatibility with various additive manufacturing techniques. Studies involving the printing of cell-laden structures using HAp-containing bioink formulations have also revealed exceptional osteogenic properties.
