BIOLASE Technology, Inc. (/exchange>NASDAQ/exchange>>/>: BLTI) today announced that it has engaged Baltimore-based Levin Group, Inc., a leading international dental practice consulting firm, to develop a practice management system for the successful integration and implementation of BIOLASE dental lasers into everyday dental offices. The practice management system will showcase the value of BIOLASE lasers as an effective technology that has been allowing dental practices to increase the number of services they provide and enhance the patient experience. This new program will help current and future BIOLASE users integrate lasers more seamlessly into the practice as a standard tool to be used in everyday dentistry. This program will be designed to teach the dentist and dental team how to maximize the use of their laser and achieve an even higher positive return-on-investment.
Dr. Roger Levin will present the practice integration program at the World Clinical Laser Institute (WCLI) dentistry symposium scheduled for March 4-6, 2010, at the Marriott San Diego Hotel and Marina in San Diego, CA. The concurrently announced event is co-sponsored by BIOLASE and Henry Schein, Inc. (/exchange>NASDAQ/exchange>>/>: HSIC), the exclusive distributor of BIOLASE products in North America and many countries around the world. The WCLI Super Symposium will cover general laser procedures, endodontic techniques, surgery, and periodontal applications, as well as a review of the latest dental technologies on the market, providing an in-depth understanding of the role that lasers play in today's successful dental practice.
BIOLASE Chief Executive Officer David M. Mulder said, "Our Company has done an effective job of attracting and nurturing relationships with the most progressive and innovative dental practitioners, educators, distributors and other professionals worldwide. We are also pleased to have attracted global business partners like Henry Schein and Procter & Gamble (P&G). As we now drive adoption across the broader dental markets, it is critical that we achieve our goal of educating the entire dental community on the significant difference that BIOLASE technologies can bring to the practices and the lives of every dentist. It is also critical to ensure that doctors and their staffs feel confident and secure integrating lasers into their practices. We believe the program we are collaborating on with the Levin Group will help us achieve our goals."
Mulder continued, "Educating dentists on the clinical and economic benefits of incorporating dental laser systems is an important part of our joint mandate with Henry Schein and we believe this venue allows us to accomplish that in an effective and efficient manner. I am confident that the Levin Group's participation will be a highlight of this year's WCLI program."
