If you or someone you love have been affected by vascular disease and have a willingness to help others, the Vascular Disease Foundation (VDF) is calling for applications to join its ambassador program to help promote vascular disease awareness.
Each year over 40 million Americans are affected by vascular disease and VDF aims to educate more Americans about the risk factors, signs and symptoms, prevention and treatments options. Through this new program, it is VDF's goal to reach out on a local level to educate more Americans with life-saving information about vascular diseases.
This new program will train members of the general public and health care providers to provide support for others impacted by vascular disease and help raise awareness and money to reduce death and disability. Selected applicants will create the program. Men and women of all ages are encouraged to apply. Those with a passion to share their story and a desire to help others affected by vascular disease are strongly encouraged to apply. Strong speaking and communication skills will be helpful.
Ambassadors will be expected to commit to at least eight hours per month. Duties may include attending monthly conference calls and/or training workshops, public speaking, attending health fairs or events and starting a local support group.
For more information and to complete an application, go to www.vdf.org/resources/ambassadors.php or by calling VDF at 888.VDF.4INFO (888.833.4463). Applications are due April 30.
