Exporting tools

Step-by-step instructions can guide users through the testing process, ensuring their tests are straightforward, repeatable, and error-free. Prompts can be customized with images and text.

Safer — Safety without sacrificing throughput

Operator protect

The 3400 Series is built around Instron’s patent-pending Operator Protect architecture. A smart workflow improves operator and equipment safety by monitoring system status from setup to test completion.

Built-in safety coaching

The 3400 system clearly instructs users on when it is safe to enter the test space and when they should avoid it.

Smart-close air kit

Lower grip-closing pressure and reduced speed during the installation phase of a test reduce the risk of finger pinching caused by pneumatic grips.

All-new operator panel

System controls are now more accessible than ever, thanks to the 3400 Series’ newly improved operator panel. Ergonomics and throughput are enhanced by jogging the crosshead, starting and stopping tests, and returning to the initial position directly from the instrument.

1. Variable speed jog

In the installation mode, the system will automatically adjust to a safe speed that allows an operator to operate in the test area.

2. Status at a glance

In Bluehill® Universal, indicator lights and associated Safety Coaching messages can be used to track the system’s status.

3. Virtual interlock

Instron’s patent-pending system design restricts the instrument's movement to avoid the crosshead moving unintentionally.

Smarter — Protecting user’s investment

Collision mitigation

If force is sensed during a jog or upon return, the crosshead can be stopped to minimize damage to sensitive specimens and equipment.

Load cell overload protection

When the load cell reaches its maximum capacity, the 3400 Series systems automatically stop. This prevents harm to the system, load cell, and accessories.

Built to last

The 3400 Series, powered by maintenance-free brushless AC servomotors, is designed to last. For added durability, all of Instron’s electromechanical systems include guidance columns and preloaded ballscrews.
