The Instron® AT3 features an innovative design for the automated tensile, compression, and/or flexural testing of a wide range of specimens types. With a smaller footprint, the system offers many of the advantages of Instron's robotic AT6 systems while adhering to ASTM D638 and D790, ISO 527 and 178, and other testing standards.

- Depending on the size and shape of the sample, the AT3 can hold up to 160 specimens between two storage racks.
- Provides a dual-axis specimen measurement module and the ability to read specimen barcodes and QR codes as standard.
- Multiple racks can be purchased for each system, enabling operators to load specimens in advance while the system is operating.
- Appropriate for a variety of materials, including rigid plastics, elastomers, thin films, foams, and metals.
- The compact footprint is marginally larger than that of a typical test frame.
- When the loader is up and running, there is almost no switch-over time, and the system can be operated manually.
- Instead of measuring strain using the crosshead displacement, the user can choose to use automatic contacting or non-contacting video extensometers to increase accuracy.
