aCOLyte 3 HD Automated Colony Counter

Synbiosis’ aCOLyte 3 HD is the company’s budget-concious, automated colony counting equipment. It is offered in a single configuration for measuring Pour and Spiral plates and has new, user-friendly software that significantly enhances efficiency, dependability, and productivity over manual colony counting.

The new aCOLyte 3 HD software employs a strong new algorithm for colony counting on Pour and Spiral plates, previously only available on advanced ProtoCOL 3 models. Plates are analysed automatically, and the final reports can be exported in Excel, PDF or Open Office format.

Plates up to 90 mm in diameter are compatible with the new aCOLyte 3 HD design. LEDs installed above and below the sample region allows the sample to be evenly lit and gives the user flexibility in how to image the plate. If necessary, a detachable screen can eliminate intense ambient light.

aCOLyte 3 HD can be used with any compatible laptop or desktop PC and connects via USB.

Why buy?

  • Low cost
    • aCOLyte 3 HD is a low-cost introduction to automated colony counting. Results and plate images are stored on within an SQL Databse for traceability, uniformity, and report production.
  • Automated
    • With the aCOLyte 3 HD plates can be counted quickly. Typically, plates can be counted within a few seconds.
  • Image display
    • The aCOLyte 3 HD shows the image on the computer screen, with counted colonies clearly defined using customisable markers. The zoom capability allows the user to closely inspect the plates and make any manual edits after the initial count to ensure precise counting.
  • Powerful algorithm
    • The aCOLyte 3 HD employs the sophisticated Synbiosis algorithm to ensure precise counting. A colony separator mechanically separates touching colonies to increase counting accuracy.
  • Sensitive high definition camera
    • Thanks to an integral high deifnition colour camera, colonies as small as 0.1 mm can be imaged and counted.
  • Switchable lighting
    • Switching the LED lighting from upper, lower, or both settings is possible, allowing counting on both light and dark media.
  • Database
    • All data is stored automatically in the MS SQL Server Express database.
