Fat filling for facial rejuvenation

Aging will affect all of us.  Fillers are most commonly used to fill the deep lines around the mouth.  Dr. Hardaway, a prominent Farmington Hills, Michigan plastic surgeon states that many patients now prefer to have their own fat injected to fill those unwanted wrinkles.  Dr. Hardaway, owner of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Laser Center, stated that after liposuctioning unwanted fat, the fat is injected into the face to fill deep lines especially around the mouth.  Other common areas that are often injected are the cheeks which often lose fullness with aging and the tear troughs under the eyes.

Dr. Hardaway stated that it can often be more financially advantageous to use your own fat because a larger volume can be obtained for injection.  Most fillers come in .8cc to 1.5cc size syringes; deep lines can require multiple syringes.  Most of the common fillers can last 1 to 2 years.  Recent studies are indicating that the fat is surviving and can give lasting facial rejuvenation. Fat is becoming a more common option for facial rejuvenation.
