ACR names WDI as Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

Women's Digital Imaging of Ridgewood (WDI) has been named a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The Center of Excellence designation is awarded to facilities that meet the highest standards set by the ACR through peer-review evaluations conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists.  WDI is being recognized for achieving the highest practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.  WDI has earned accreditation by the ACR in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound, including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy and Molecular Breast Imaging (BSGI) .

Women's Digital Imaging of Ridgewood was founded in 2003 by Dr. Lisa Weinstock and now has over 4,000 patients.  Women's Digital Imaging specializes in detecting and diagnosing conditions that affect women including breast cancer, gynecologic diseases and osteoporosis.  WDI gives patients the accuracy of the most advanced diagnostic technology including Digital Mammography and Molecular imaging using Breast Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI), and exceptional care from compassionate, highly trained personnel.  WDI is the first medical practice in New Jersey to screen select patients for breast cancer with Molecular Imaging, an alternative to MRI that is less costly, more comfortable and results in 50% fewer false positives.  WDI minimizes the anxiety women feel by providing timely appointments, comfortable surroundings and immediate results following exams.  Follow up testing, when needed, is done as quickly as possible, often the same day.

Dr. Weinstock completed a fellowship in Breast Imaging at Columbia Presbyterian University Medical Center and a four-year residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Hackensack University Medical Center.  She was an intern in Anatomic Pathology at Montefiore Medical Center and attained her M.D. from the SUNY-Health Sciences Center of Brooklyn.
