Drug Delivery Device Torque Testing

Specification

Becton Dickinson (BD) a global medical technology company needed to evaluate the required torque to unscrew the cap of a drug delivery device, which is completed as a production quality control measure.

BD had previously been using a hand-operated torque tester, but due to different testing techniques from individual operators, BD had been experiencing large inconsistencies in the results.

Solution

A Vortex-i computer-controlled torque measurement system was provided by Mecmesin. The irregular variance in results was removed by the motorized operation of the Vortex-i, allowing accurate and assured assessments of this device to their strict internal test standards.

The clear and simple user interface enables BD users to easily and quickly complete tests within their class 10,000 clean room manufacturing environment. The accompanying software, Emperor™ can then export the data directly into Microsoft® Excel for storage and analysis.
