In pipetting, the angle at which a pipette is held can be crucial in ensuring good results and accuracy. It is always best to keep the pipette held at the same angle for as many pipetting steps as possible.
The more consistent the researcher is, the more precise their results will be. Ideally, the angle at which the pipette is held should not be lower than 20 degrees.
When pipetting extremely low volumes, such as 30 µl or less, the pipette should be as straight as possible. While it does not always seem to be the most comfortable way to pipette, this can incrementally improve results and accuracy.
