Custom Blocking Peptides for IHC and Western Blot Applications

Abcam can currently provide customers with custom blocking peptides for its RabMAb® range of rabbit monoclonal antibodies.

Immunizing or blocking peptides can be employed as controls to assess the specificity of antibodies in applications like western blot and immunohistochemistry.

Process for Ordering

  1. Customers can get in touch with Scientific Support with details of the antibody they wish to block. They can email or call Abcam, or select the “Question about a product” dropdown on the inquiries page
  2. In cases where Abcam does not hold stock of the peptide, Scientific Support will advise customers as to whether Abcam can custom synthesize the peptide
  3. Scientific Support will offer customers a quote and lead time*

*Due to the custom nature of these products, in numerous cases, the minimum quantity Abcam can offer is 1 mg. The cost and lead time will differ based on the complexity and length of the peptide. As a rough guide, a 10-amino acid blocking peptide will cost ~£146/mg and can be supplied in about 8–10 weeks.
