Host cell proteins (HCPs) are unwanted substances that can get into cell-based biotherapeutics, like recombinant proteins and antibodies during production. Chinese Hamster Ovarian (CHO) cells are commonly used to make these biotherapeutic products.
CHO cells naturally produce certain types of HCPs like PLBL2/PLBD2, PLA2G15, CLU, and LPL, which can harm the quality, effectiveness, and safety of biotherapeutics. Notably, HCPs can trigger unwanted immune reactions to the medicine. Because of this, there's a strong need for tests and substances to find and measure HCPs.
PLBL2/PLBD2 is a stubborn Host Cell Protein (HCP) present in CHO cells. Sino Biological, a world-renowned expert in recombinant technology, has recently created a special PLBL2/PLBD2 ELISA kit. This kit can precisely measure the amount of PLBL2/PLBD2 in Chinese hamster cells.
