Overview

Features and benefits

  • Easy and effective on-column DNase treatment with RNA Purification Kits from Norgen
  • Includes a detailed protocol for in-solution digestion followed by RNA clean-up
  • Includes Enzyme Incubation Buffer
  • Guaranteed RNase-Free
  • One 1,600-unit vial is included in Cat. 25710, and four vials of 1,600 units each are included in Cat. 25720.

Total RNA is isolated using Norgen's RNA purification kits with very little genomic DNA contamination. However, eliminating all traces of leftover DNA might be preferable for some delicate downstream applications. Norgen's RNA purification kits can be used with their RNase-free DNAse I Kit with Enzyme Incubation Buffer for optional on-column DNase digestion.

As an alternative, this DNase I can treat the RNA elution following total RNA isolation using one of Norgen's RNA purification kits. After being separated from the DNase using Norgen's RNA Clean-Up and Concentration Kit (Cat# 23600), the RNA can then be utilized in subsequent processes.

Details

Every RNase-Free DNase I Kit includes sufficient enzymes and enzyme incubation buffers to support 50 or 200 reactions.

Storage conditions

The DNase I supplied has been lyophilized. If kept at room temperature, it remains stable for at least three months. To preserve stability after three months, the DNase I vial should be stored at 2 to 8 ºC (or lower) as soon as it is received.

Buffer DR and Enzyme Incubation Buffer can be kept at room temperature. The DNase I should be stored at -20 ºC following reconstitution with Buffer DR. At the proper storage temperature, all reagents in their unopened containers should stay stable for at least a year.
