Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 9 (4-1BBL), also known as 4-1BB ligand, CD137L, or TNFSF9, is a cytokine that binds to TNFRSF9. It serves as the high-affinity ligand for 4-1BB and plays a key role in promoting the proliferation of activated peripheral blood T cells.
Additionally, 4-1BBL may contribute to activation-induced cell death (AICD) and facilitate interactions between T cells and B cells or macrophages. It is also implicated in various diseases, including cancers, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders.
